Big Market

A newly-opened market inside an old industrial space (no idea about what purpose it once served).

Although the floor is dusty, the quality of the goods sold there are quite high, and the prices are lower than in the chain supermarket across from our apartment complex.

Since it is still fairly close to us, Lao Lao and Lao Ye go there almost daily to get our foodstuff.

  1. wonderful looking market—but to restrain oneself so one can go everyday? that would be a good spiritual practice!

    1. 🙂 We have a small fridge (about half the size of one in America), no canned goods, and very little boxed goods.

You go once a day, get what you’ll eat that day (or perhaps for a meal tomorrow as leftovers), and that’s it.

  2. do markets like this spring up overnight? it looks like wonderful place to shop. i’ll enjoy buying vegetables there when i visit. and discovering vegetables i don’t even know exist.
