Xi’an, Revisited (VII)

Here it is. My seventh and final post of revisiting the photographs I took of Xi’an during my three trips to that ancient city.

  1. I find those terra cotta warriors so amazing. Thanks for the photos. How ever do they separate them from the earth they are buried in, and how did they find them in the first place???

    1. Farmers digging wells. A number had brought-up remnants of the army, but one in particular brought what he found to the authorities. The last time I was there, he was still there signing books behind a table at the site.

      I think the terracotta is fairly hard. Just a lot of painstaking work.
