I’ve walked by the strangely named Byone Global Food Restaurant many times on my way to and from the gym. Tonight I finally gave it a try.
I was pleasantly surprised. Really nice decor, a good choice of Western-inspired food (menu in Chinese and English), with fairly reasonable prices. The veal, vegetables, and potatoes dish, accompanied by a mango drink, cost me 60 RMB.
Here are a couple of pictures:

It was just the right amount of food. Felt full, but not bloated.
I’ll be coming back again.
Shanshan and I were walking home from lunch yesterday when we passed by a group of four women, followed by another pushing a couple of pieces of furniture on a san lun che. I had the 85 mm on the D300, and was far too close to capture the scene in a single shot. So, I took four shots from waist level as we walked by, and then joined them together with Photoshop.
Here’s the result:
Women and Furniture
The facial expression of the woman in the left of the photograph somehow had me comparing it to that of Phan Thị Kim Phúc in the iconic photograph that Nick Ut took of her.
I’m not sure if my shot is a good one… it just seems to have many levels to it.
